Description
This 4-hour course presents the early occupation of the areas of current day Kentucky from the pre-Columbian era through the development of the boundaries of Kentucky as defined by various European colonization efforts until reaching the modern boundaries of Kentucky. We will then focus on the Henderson survey of the sectional lands of the Jackson Purchase area of Kentucky with a discussion of how this survey came about, how to research record patents for the sections, and how the sectional survey is currently addressed in surveying practice.
